Types of Parcs
In Europe, there are two types of parcs: Campsites and Apartment Resorts. The Campsite Resorts are very similar to holiday parks in the UK with mobile homes (caravans), chalets, lodges etc, plus some quirkier accomodation in a few of them. The Apartment Resorts on the other hand have more permanent accommodation, including in the majority of cases, apartments, but also villas and studios. There are also a few resorts that have houses, bungalows or cabins.
Keycamp has a large range of different accommodation. In Europe it varies from several sizes and grades of mobile homes, via apartments, bungalows, chalets, lodges and Supertents, to the completely unique tree or lake houses.
In the USA, Keycamp also has mobile homes, lodges and Kabins (think log), but with a trans-Atlantic twist. Also you can stay in one of the famous Airstream caravans. And for those who wish to go where the fancy takes them, there are motor homes in both Europe or the US.
Keycamp for Everybody
Keycamp holidays are great for families with children. Many of the parks have childrens clubs these include:
- Mini Funstation, Keycamp's children's club for toddlers - with games, puzzles, blocks etc provided. For this age group, depending on the park there can be also Tumble Tots and swimming or cycling lessons.
- Many of the parcs provide activities aimed at 4-12 years old. Small and medium size parcs provide Fun Station for the whole age group, whereas larger ones may provide several different clubs.
- For teenagers, many of the parcs provide "the Base".
These are free, except where off-site activities are involved, such as go karting or canoeing.
Keycamp go out of their way to help single parent families. This can range from removing your rubbish to giving a discount (in certain parcs) where there is only one adult travelling with children under 18 years (£75 for peak times, £50 for off-peak and £25 for short breaks.)
