Hotel Santana

The four star Hotel Santana has 200 rooms, a mixture of standard and superior rooms, with in addition, a few suites.  It has a choice of bars and restaurants,  both roof top and indoor pools and a Wellness Centre.

Only minutes away from the promenade and beach, the 4* Hotel Santana is located in the centre of Qawra.  Whilst it is very handy for the restaurants, bars, discos, shops and the bus terminal, the hotel itself is located in a quiet area.

There is a free public car park opposite the hotel.

Hotel Santana Accommodation

The majority of the rooms in the Hotel Santana are twin bedded standard rooms, although most can accommodate a third bed.  The facilities include a balcony, air conditioning, en suite bath and shower, cable TV, radio, hair dryer, safe deposit box and tea coffee making facilities are available for a small charge.

Superior rooms are suitable for families, being capable of sleeping up to four people.  In addition to all the facilities of the standard rooms, they provide a fridge, tea and coffee making facilities plus they are slightly better furnished, for example including a sofa for relaxing in.

There are a few very sought after one bedroom suites.  in addition to the standard facilities, they are equipped with a small kitchenette, dining area for up to four people and living area with sofa that becomes a double bed.  The fully equipped kitchenette has a ceramic hob and oven/microwave.

Hotel Santana Restaurants and Bars

There are two restaurants, a cafeteria and a bar in the Hotel Santana.  The main restaurant is the Moire Restaurant.  The restaurant serves both hot and cold buffet breakfast, buffet lunch and dinner, with a variety of local and continental cooking, including vegetarian options.  There is a carvery buffet lunch on Sundays during the winter.

The Hotel Santana's other restaurant is La Mentha Trattoria.  Its decor is in traditional Maltese style, offering informal dining.  La Mentha specializes in Italian cooking and serves a wide selection of dishes including salads, pastas and pizzas.

The Café Castagna is located at the front of the Hotel Santana, next to the reception.  It is fully air conditioned and extends outside onto a landscaped terrace.  it offers a range of hot and cold beverages, snacks, ice-creams, plus a selection of pastries, most of which are baked on the premises.  Various forms of live entertainment take place in the Café Castagna several times a week.

The La Mentha Trattoria has comfortable seating, providing a popular place to have an evening drink.  Also, there is the rooftop Pool Bar with all round panoramic views, both out to sea and over the local countryside.  Snacks, ice-creams and hot and cold beverages are served.  Evening entertainment is provided during the summer.  (This is closed, along with the pool, during the winter.)

Hotel Santana Facilities

The rooftop swimming pool is surrounded by a sunbathing terrace and has a section suitable for small children.  There is also a permanent shaded area for cooling down in.  Sunbeds and umbrellas are provided.  In addition to the top terrace around the swimming pool, there are two other terraces for those who want to relax in peace.  This is closed in winter.

The Indigo Wellness Centre provides spa treatments ideal for relaxing body and mind.  It has an indoor pool which is open all the year except for maintenance (normally August) and heated during the winter.  The treatments include whirlpool, hydrotherapy bath, sauna and fitness equipment.  Their therapists provide various massages and beauty treatments.  These include slimming courses, including ultrasound technology combined with body wraps and slendertone treatments.

There is a games room next to the Moire Restaurant providing a variety of games such as a pool table and air hockey. For those who want to keep in touch with friends and family, there is internet access in the Café Castagna.
