Sunflower Hotel

The 3 star Sunflower Hotel is located on the southern edge of Qawra, near the parish church and a few minutes walk from the promenade.  Though it is within walking distance of the lively Bugibba centre, it is situated in a quiet area.  It is also within walking distance of the bus terminal, where the excellent bus service can take you to Valletta and the rest of the island.

Modern on the outside, inside the three star Sunflower Hotel the traditional architecture of Malta is celebrated, with the local limestone being used throughout. The hotel has six floors and 108 rooms.  It is air conditioned during the summer and centrally heated during the winter.  There are two swimming pools: one on the roof and an indoor heated pool.  The hotel also provides massage and beauty treatments.

Sunflower Hotel Accommodation

All the rooms in the Sunflower Hotel have balcony and en suite bathroom.  Their decor reflects the rest of the hotel's design, having traditional Maltese features.  The accommodation is split into standard, superior and a small number of family rooms.

The majority of the standard rooms in the Sunflower Hotel have twin beds, although some rooms with double beds are available.  Most of them can take a third bed.  The room's facilities include balcony, en suite bath and shower, cable TV, hair dryer, ceiling fan, central heating and air conditioning, safety deposit box and direct dial telephone.

The superior rooms in the Sunflower Hotel have all the facilities of a standard room, except they are more spacious and include a sofa bed which opens into a single bed.  They also provide tea & coffee making facilities and an iron and ironing board.

 The Sunflower Hotel's family rooms are even more spacious, taking up to four adults.  They also have bigger terraces, with umbrellas and sun loungers.  They are ideal for families who like to keep all the comforts of home on holiday.

Sunflower Hotel Restaurant and Bars

 The fully air conditioned Geranium Restaurant is the main eatery in the Sunflower Hotel.  It is located on the ground floor, opening out on to two terraces.  Its decor features traditional Maltese features typical of the Sun Flower Hotel, such as stone arches and wrought iron.  

The Sunflower Hotel's Geranium Restaurant is open for breakfast and dinner.  Breakfast consists of a continental buffet, with cooked breakfasts an additional option.  Dinner is again a buffet, with a range of international and local specialities.  Specific dietary needs can be catered for.  Theme nights, such as Maltese Night and Carvery Night, are organized regularly.

Next to the Sunflower Hotel's reception is the Amaryllis Bar.  It is open 24 hours a day, serving a range of hot and cold beverages, snacks and pastries.  It frequently has live entertainment, and for guest in the winter, it has an open fireplace.

The Sunflower Hotel's roof top Wardija Pool Bar provides 360° panoramic views, both out to sea and inland, the latter  including the Wardija Hills, after which it is named.  Guests can be served both in the pool or on the sun terrace.  The Wadija Pool Bar provides a range of drinks and snacks and during the summer it provides a choice of salads and grills.  It is possible to have the hotel provide a party or barbecue around the pool.  Evening entertainment is put on during the summer season.  (It is closed during the winter.)

Sunflower Hotel Facilities

The Sun Flower Hotel's roof top pool is surrounded by the Sun bathing terrace.  It is equipped with a whirlpool, and for those who want to cool down after a hard days relaxing in the Sun, submerged benches.  There is also a children's paddling pool.  (It is closed during the winter.)

The Sun Flower Hotel also has a indoor pool (heated during the winter and closed in August).  Next to the pool there are massage and beauty treatment areas.

There is a games room with pool table, internet café and WiFi is available in the public areas.  

The 24 hour reception can offer money changing facilities.  Hair dressing services can be organised in ones room.  Laundry service is also available.
