The 5 star Fortina Spa Resort is located towards the end of the Sliema peninsular, overlooking the Marsamxett harbour, with excellent views over Valletta.  Although in a quiet part of Sliema, the Fortina Spa Resort is only 300 m away from the shops and facilities of Sliema.

The five star Fortina Spa Resort provides four different Spas (which are shared with the Hotel Fortina), each of which has its own style of treatments.  In addition there are a choice of six different  restaurants, two bars, an extensive fitness room and a choice of swimming pools.

The Fortina Spa Resort has the first Spa bedrooms of any hotel in the world.  Some even have their own private roof terrace with sea water pool.

Sliema is an excellent choice for those who would like to see the rest of the island.  The Fortina Spa Resort is not only handy for bus stops, but also for the ferry across the harbour to Valletta itself.

The main part of the Fortina Spa Resort has Sea View or Garden View Rooms.  These are 35 sq m in size, and either look onto the Fortina Spa Resort's Tropical Garden or over to the historic Valletta.  Each room comes complete with climate control, television with music/films on demand, a stocked mini-bar (all-inclusive guests only), Espresso machine and safe.

Next to the main part of the Fortina Spa Resort, there is a four storey building containing the world's first Therapeutic Spa Bedrooms.  These are 50 sq m in size, with views over the Tropical Gardens.  They have their own balconies with Sun beds, therapeutic baths, a massage shower for two, including a steam sauna and a Dermalife Machine for whole body detoxification and a Spa for two people with seven different programs.  Optionally there are private roof gardens with sea water flotation pool which can give underwater massages.  The roof garden also comes complete with barbecue and Sun beds.

Guests staying on the bed & breakfast tariff receive an à la carte breakfast, whilst those on half-board have in addition, a à la carte dinner plus use of the fitness centre and a harbour cruise.   All Inclusive guests have à la carte breakfast, lunch and dinner in a choice of six restaurants and drinks in a choice of two bars, along with the fitness centre and cruise.

There a choice of five restaurants when staying at the Fortina Spa Resort:

  • Taste; offering a fusion of the four main tastes: hot, sweet, salt and sour, this restaurant presents an eclectic mix of Japanese, Vietnamese and Mediterranean dishes.  It is located in the Fortina's Tropical Garden with optional al fresco dining.
  • Can Thai: this restaurant is the Fortina Spa Resort's award winning Chinese and Thai restaurant. It is accessed via the Fortina Spa Resort.
  • Hibiki: the Fortina Spa Resort's award winning Japanese restaurant offers a choice of table d'hôte,  à la carte and Teppanyaki menus.  The latter involves the chef cooking the meal on a griddle right in front of you.
  • Sa Re Ga Ma: possibly the best Indian Restaurant in Malta, voted as one of Malta's 'Top 40' dining outlets.  It is locate in the Fortina Spa Resort's Tropical Garden and it is possible to sit outside in warm evenings.  There is a choice of dishes form thirty different regions of India, including as one would expect from regional Indian cooking, many vegetarian specialities.
  • Ristorante Tigné: this restaurant serves a superb choice of Italian and Mediterranean food and some excellent well-priced wines to go with it.  This is also accessed from the neighbouring Fortina Spa Resort.
  • Il-Giardino: open for lunch only, this provides traditional Italian dishes, such as Pizzas, Antipasti and pasta.

There are three bars:

  • The Limes Bar: on top of the Fortina Spa Resort's reception overlooking the Fortina's Tropical Garden on one side and Valletta on the other, Limes bar provides the evenings entertainment in the winter months.
  • The Island Bar: situated in the middle of the Tropical Garden's swimming pool, the Island Bar is open daily from may to October.

The Fortina Spa Resort has a choice of swimming pools.  Outside is the large freshwater Garden Pool. Inside there is the Fortina Fitness Centre pool.  This is a heated saltwater indoor pool which has a good view towards Valletta.

The Fortina Fitness Centre provides a well equipped gym, with a large selection of fitness equipment.  Also there are aerobic classes run by qualified instructors.

In addition there are pools which are part of the spa.

Offering over 200 treatments, the Fortina Spa is divided into 4 different Spas:

  • The Hypogeum: A holistic body, mind and spirit spa offering treatments such as Chinese medicine & acupuncture, body detox, Ayuverda,  Indonesian & Chinese massages, seaweed & mud treatments, as well as facials and body treatments.
  • Belle Époque Well Being and Beauty Centre: The Belle Époque offers the latest state-of-the-art beauty therapies from round the world.  These include treatments from the traditional to the hitech, such as Turkish mud baths, the Cleopatra bath, a Japanese room and various different massages.
  • Spa Santé: This consists of a series of treatment rooms for anti-stress, detoxing and relaxation.  These include a Mediterranean Sauna, reflexology basin, ice fountain, Kneip walk, tepidarium, Roman Laconium and many others
  • Spa Mediteranée: This offers Thalasso treatments based on concentrated sea water.  The Thalasso hydrotherapy pool, heated to 35°C is equipped with powerful jets to massage painful muscles.  In addition there are anti-stress treatments, "Dead Sea" body treatments  and various others.
