Skegness is so Bracing goes the slogan. Which is probably why, back in 1936, Billy Butlins built the original Butlins here. As then, Skegness still is a lovely traditional seaside town on the Lincolnshire coast, and still has its blue flag standard golden sands. However, Butlins is now very different
Butlins Skegness Activities
Opened in 2013, Skegness has Butlins newest Splash Waterworld. This has three new super fast flumes, a shallow beach area, outdoor rapids, a new family raft rides, cafes, bars and its own DJ.
Butlins Skegness also has its own traditional fairground, providing all the fun of the fair. Most fairgrounds are fun to go to but cost a fortune. Butlins fairground is different. It's still as much fun, but all the rides are free, all day and everday.
The rides include Dodgems, traditional Carousel, Paratrooper, Rockin' Tug, Miami Wave and a Waltzer. There is also an indoor fun fair for the little ones including a Safari Train, a Tea-Cup Ride, Airplanes and Ladybirds.
At the heart of the resort is the Skyline Pavilion. This has an entertainment stage, with shows featuring various characters. Also there are a variety of shops, bars and cafes.
Live shows take place at three venues: the Skyline Stage, for daytime shows; Center Stage, for the big evening music and dance shows and Reds for live bands and the best tribute acts.

Butlins Skegness Accommodation
The standard apartments have either 2 or 3 bedrooms, a bathroom with shower, a lounge with TV and kitchen. As with all Butlins accommodation, bed linen is provided.
The silver apartments are slightly bigger and have a microwave in the kitchen. In addition the Gold Apartments come with a dishwasher and have towels provided.
The rooms have 1, 2 or 3 bedrooms and a bathroom with shower. There is also a TV in the main bedroom and tea and coffee are provided.
Dining in Butlins Skegness
There are the usual Butlins dining plans, Food Court and Premium Dining. The Deck Restaurant, a new Premium Dining restaurant opened in 2013. This is a contemporary buffet-style restaurant.
Do you like Italian food? Then try Ludos. Whether it is pizza, pasta or Italian ice cream, you are sure to find what you like. Other restaurants include the Sun and Moon for family pub style dining, the Rock & Sole for fish & chips, the pizzeria Papa John's and Burger King.
There are several different bars. As well as the Sun & Moon pub, there are wine bars, sports bars, coffee bars, and even one specialising in milk shakes.
